Sitting Up!

During our journey up to Chase Brea had to sleep in her playpen. She was rather upset when she woke up and didn't recognize her surroundings. Loud wailing ensued and when we went in to see her, she was SITTING UP! She consistently pushed herself up to sitting position all day long the following day. Hmmmm... she seems to be inspired when she's mad.

Daddy Day Weekend!

We had a nice visit to Chase, BC this past weekend to see Nana and Grumpa, celebrate Craig's First Daddy's Day and to give a chance for our little one to have a taste of a long car trip.

It started off great as Brea had not napped and promptly zonked out... unfortunately, we forgot a few items and had to turn around and wasted some of her asleep time for traveling. But we were soon off and away and Brea did not stir until we neared the old toll booths on the Coquihalla. At that point, I took a seat in the back and did my best to keep Brea entertained with the bag o' toys we had packed.

When we finally rolled into Chase, Brea was rearing to get out of her chair and Grumpa was ready to grab her for a big hug! She was the Belle of the Park as she visited all of Nana and Grumpa's neighbours, there was even talk of renting her out for $10/hour since she was so popular - Craig and I would never agree to that of course - she's worth at least $25 :o)

Brea had so much fun meeting so many people and partying it up. She even had time for a short boat ride for which she mostly wailed the whole time but I'm sure that she'll be more comfortable next month when we go out more frequently. I have a feeling it was mostly the discomfort of the lifejacket that made her upset.

On Daddy Day, Brea had the chance to give Daddy a very special tie with pictures of them together when Craig was coaching in the Agrodome. He loved it!

It's official, we have a new home! We LOVE it and can't wait to have friends and family over to see it. The only catch is we don't get to move in until the end of July and we have to move out of our current place at the end of this month. Nomadic life, here we come! Wordless Wednesday - Hey, Good Lookin'

SOLD!!!

We have SOLD our place! There was drama, stress, worry, and finally excitement but in the end, a little bit of patience and lots of hope won out. We accepted an offer on Sunday and the subjects were removed after the home inspection today. Pretty good work for being on the market for only a few weeks :o) So I have to say, if you are looking to sell your place, do take a look at Theresa Gold.

We are now house bound! We've been out and about with our realtor and seen some places in PoCo and Maple Ridge - a few have stuck in our minds and we're excited that we can now move ahead seriously. I am SO HAPPY! Brea will have more room to roam and play (not that she's mobile yet - so more places for us to hold her while she tries to walk). Yay!

Wordless Wednesday - The Sweetest Things

A morning soliloquy

Brea has been more and more vocal lately, especially after meals. Once she's fed, she wants to share all of her thoughts! Here is a typical morning conversation after breakfast. As you can see, she's very intent on getting her message across :o)

Of Fish and Bread

Brea has been smitten by fish and bread lately.
She devours it, gobbles it up, mushes it all over her face.
Trout, salmon, halibut - she loves to eat these fishies from the sea.
And bread... not your run of the mill regular white bread, nay it must be artisan bread for my little gourmet. She loves the Cranberry Semolina from A Bread Affair at the Farmer's Market on Sundays and the Turkish Bread from COBS Bread.

A busy Saturday

Whew! What a busy Saturday!

Brea was woken this morning by a seriously annoying car alarm out on the street and was a very grumpy little girl. Unfortunately, this morning was also one of the only times my photographer friend, Glen, was able to make it over to do a photo shoot of my little monkey. We had been wanting to have him back for another session after the fabulous work he did just after she was born. Luckily, with Mommy dancing and singing like a lunatic, Brea managed to crack a smile or two and with some of my roses in bloom in the garden, we even managed a few great outdoor shots. I can't wait to see the pictures to share them with you all.

Then, because we had a viewing and an open house we had to leave our humble abode to pursue other activities.

We met up for dim-sum with Po-po before making it out to see Brea's Uncle Ambrose who was taking part in the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life, we wanted to make sure to stop by and do a lap with him. Brea has been doing a lot of walking (with help) lately and was keen to join in. Taking steps while holding onto Craig and I, she managed 1/4 of the track at Percy Perry Stadium! She's going to be off on her own in no time. Craig took a picture on his phone but I haven't figured out how to get it off his phone and onto the computer - if anyone knows, please let me know!

Then, it was off to home to close-up shop and get changed for a wedding reception. A co-worker of Craig's was celebrating her new marriage and new home. It was a beautiful house and a lovely get-together.

Needless to say, Brea was pretty tuckered out and has gone to bed early. What a busy day!
