Rolling, rolling

Ah the woes of the second child.

Brea was jumping on the couch and we were trying to get her to calm down. Craig looked over and said, "oh look! Rhys just rolled onto his stomach, we missed it". That was on the 18th of September.

It happened again this morning and I was distracted by little Miss B.

Poor little boy, so much effort going unnoticed.

Aquarium

The last week of summer vacation we went for a visit to the Aquarium. I have been so excited to go and was really looking forward to it. We had been talking to Brea about it too so that she would have an idea of what to expect when we got there. It was a fair drive and Brea fell asleep along the way, we had to nudge her a bit when we got there before she woke up so the beginning of our expedition was a bit grumpy. Once we made it to the Dolphin show, she perked up and she really liked watching the phosphorescent jellyfish. Her favourite part of the day must have been the play area where kids could touch sea stars and sand dollars - she got to have a good romp around and Daddy got some exercise while I gave Rhys a snack. I think it will be a great idea to get a season pass next year when Brea is a tad older and will really be able to explore some of the great features there, though we might be back earlier... I hear Bobs & Lolo frequently perform there and she's a BIG fan!

Tonight's conversation

Brea loves to watch when dinner is being prepared. She pulls up a chair and stands at the counter ready to snap up any bits of food that might come her way. After watching me cut up veggies and snacking on peppers, she made her way to Daddy who was pulling the meat off the chicken...

Craig: "She's begging for food scraps like a dog!"
Brea: "No dog, Daddy! Little girl. I'm Brea!"

Those little ears pick things up just fine.

She did it!

Okay, so it may not be the most glamorous thing but Brea did her thing in the potty today for the first time. I'm sure she'll look at this in the future and say "Why Mom?! Why?" but hey, I'm darn proud!
