Brea's Olympic Adventure

After a night of planning, I was set. I knew how I was getting there and what we were going to do and all the other important bits of things in between to get it done. Of course, Brea didn't like that and had to have a miserable night of sleep which meant if I had awoken sleeping angel at the time I had intended, I would have had a miserable toddler with me downtown all day. No way was I going to do that!

Luckily I had a Plan B and it worked out great :o)

We started our day meeting Po-Po for a lovely Skytrain ride. Brea was fascinated by the way the doors opened at EVERY station! She kept pointing at it and was so keen to see who would come into the train next. It was a little scary though, so of course she had to hold onto Mommy's finger the whole ride just to feel safe.

We arrived downtown not as early as I had intended but we hit our stops as planned. The Royal Canadian Mint Pavilion was too busy (3 1/2 hours to see the medals) so we continued our merry way to Canada Northern House:

After a nice visit we continued on our way to GE Robson Square for the highlight of the day "Meet the Mascots On Ice"! I arrived early, found great seats and Brea just kept watching the zip lines overhead :o)

Brea LOVED watching the zip line, she kept asking for "more!". One of the zippers got stuck in the middle and got into the groove of the skate show below him.

The buildings were spectacularly decked out in celebratory posters.

I'm hoping to get in to see the DaVinci exhibit in the next week.

We found an oasis at the Bay restaurant after the show. It was nice and quiet and afforded a clean family change room to freshen us up before continuing on our tour.

Granville Street was full of great artwork. There were sculptures and lanterns galore.

Brea started tuckering out after getting her belly full and by the time we made it to the Olympic Torch, she was asleep. Nonetheless, I think she enjoyed her day fully. I certainly did! What a wonderful experience to be a part of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

I Feel Pretty!

Brea has really been into looking at herself in the mirror these days and she LOVES being pretty. Everyday, we pick a new clip for her hair or I do it up. She adores it when Mommy or Daddy or anybody really, tells her she is pretty.

I received my new order of Bugalug barrettes the other day and Brea was VERY happy to choose some new ones for her hair, she decided that this was the prettiest look:

A new camcorder and B-w-ee-a!

We purchased a camcorder during Boxing Week sales and I've been playing around with it. It is SO much better than the digital camera that I've been using. It's not as dark so you can really see Brea's cute little face :o)

Here are a few videos that have been collecting for your enjoyment. In the first test, Brea has a bit of a cold so her eyes are all teary and I've spared you the runny nose part but she's still trying to perform as the little trooper that she is.

Uncle Ambrose has been fostering Brea's new-found love for the Olympic mascots. She adores watching the online videos and gets so excited when she sees them in pictures. Her favourite item of clothing right now is her Miga/Quatchie hoodie. I guess the Olympic mascot designers knew what they were doing.
